Race Preview: Barcelona 24 Hours

My next race takes us back overseas, this time to Spain, for the Barcelona 24 Hours. Home of the Spanish Grand Prix, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a 4.627 km circuit nestled outside of Barcelona. This is the penultimate round of the 24H Series Champion of the Continents championship and the finale for the European Championship. After our last lap second place finish in Dubai, our Sorg Rennsport BMW M4 GT4 is in a good spot with points to continue our chase for the championship.

My main focus for the event is to turn clean and quick laps and stay out of trouble. I'm also going to try and sleep more during the race. I had maybe fifteen minutes of sleep during the race in Dubai! This really played a role in my final unexpected stint where I was extremely fatigued and dehydrated from living on coffee. Luckily I also have a new weapon to help with jet lag thanks to a new partnership with AYO.

I have been training in preparation for the event with an increase in my usual riding habits and also additional weight training. With the recent heat wave in Europe I was expecting even warmer temperatures but so far we're similar to home if not a little cooler. The weather forecast looks promising for the week with highs in the lower eighties Fahrenheit.

Live coverage kicks off Friday with qualifying. Be sure to tune in all weekend long at www.24HSeries.com or directly on their YouTube channel HERE. Additionally be sure to follow all of my social media channels for behind the scenes fun and additional updates.
